santa gave me an early present--a big tire around my waist!!

I'm about to make a conclusive statement, so brace yourselves. I will, undoubtedly, be one of the cutest preggers ever. I'm sure a baby bump will be quite becoming on me... BUT until then, this bloated lump of holiday cheer that is forming in my abdominal area has got to go! For reals, I want to eat everything-ham, turkey, pie, chocolate, flavored coffee, fried chicken (I don't know what that has to do with the holidays-hmmm maybe it's part of the Kwanzaa tradition).
Anyway, I don't think I'll be able to get rid of it exercising (see this post), or eating less. Really, who wants to to eat less at Thanksgiving or Christmas? So, basically I'm just saying that I want to be magically thinner without working at it at all. Can anybody tell me how to do that?

Actually I know several good ways.

1. Get sick. I got a bladder infection once and I let it go untreated. I was so tired that I slept for 16 hours in one day. I couldn't keep my eyes open, let alone eat. Getting sick is a great way to lose some weight. It's not very fun, though. Not to mention, nobody wants to be sick over the holidays.

2. Become really stressed. This is another great way to lose weight. A nice dose of stress will definitely keep your appetite down. Of course, stress is not exactly super fun either.

3. Fall in love. When I'm in love, I don't really eat. My appetite disappears. My tummy is already full... of butterflies! :D Laa la-laa la-laa! Who needs food?! Now, of the three choices, this may be the best... but at the same time the worst! I've been in love before, and it still hurts! It's been over a year, but as you can see from my tweets --> sometimes it still hurts. I'm not sure I want to be in love again, because I'm not sure there's hope for a truly happy love. I know some couples who seem to be happy, but I really don't believe it. They have to fight when nobody's watching. Life can't be as good as it looks on the outside.

So, maybe I'll just keep that little tummy there.

runner? er, ahem, runner. hungry runner!

I just went running. I used to run when I was a boxer, and I never liked it. I still don't like it. I have a total love-hate relationship with running... I'm pretty good at it, but I hate running. Ok, well maybe hate is a little strong, but I am certainly not a big fan. I am proud to say, that after not running even once since last year, I was still able to go 1.2 miles without stopping. It may have taken me about 15 minutes, but whatever.

Lately I have been hungry a lot. That has nothing to do with running, but as I am writing, I can't think of anything but eating. I'm trying to write about excersize, and all I can think of is food! Maybe I should make something to eat...

My appetite is as moody as any PMSy woman. Some weeks I hardly eat. There have been days when I don't put some food into my body for the first time until 3pm. Other weeks I eat without end. Some days I can eat 5 full meals within 18 hours! Not to mention the cravings. If I ever get pregnant, I'm going to be out of control. When I had my nose remade (boxing is great for the ol' honker! If you want to look like a porcelain doll that's fallen on her face.) I ate all sorts of awful things. First, let me say that I couldn't taste a blessed thing! Second, I only craved textures and not flavors. This led me to heat up potato salad (probably not a good idea, with the mayo, and all), melt cheese on top of canned peaches, and all sorts of other weirdness. I can only hope I will someday have a very patient husband (if it is that I ever have a husband. I've kind of given up on that one).

Well, this is definately a boring post. Like I said, the other day I had tons of things to write about... while I was at work. Now I can't remember any of them. Oh well, hopefully something interesting will soon happen to me. And by interesting, I mean like funny or exciting, not tragic or awful.

death by pilates

One of my co-workers started working out. She's always talking about how well she feels now and how much more energy she has and how much better she sleeps, etc. Well, all her rantings and ravings about exercising have made me jealous. SO... Athletic Roomie and I put on our tennies, threw in a cardio-pilates DVD and got our groove on.

After flailing my body around the living room for an hour, my muscles were screaming at me. Even muscles I didn't know I had were hating on me. Apparently there is a muscle called the hip flexor (Athletic Roomie said so). I didn't know hip flexors could hurt so much. So really, just how much exercising do you have to do before you start to feel great?

Well, I don't know if exercise can kill you, but I'm not sure I want to risk it... I can see the headlines now, "Woman Dies in Freak Pilates Accident." And I don't know about you, but I personally don't want to be a statistic. I supposed I could give it another try though. I'll keep you posted.
